Carmo’s Boutique Hotel ambassador of the Portuguese “Winery terroir”, selected the best among the best Terroirs of Minho, framed in the largest demarcated region in Europe, aiming to increase the knowledge and appreciation of its exclusive wines, in symbiotic association with gastronomy.

Orographically, the region presents itself as “a vast amphitheater which, from the seafront, gradually rises towards the interior” (Amorim Girão), exposing the entire area to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, a phenomenon reinforced by the orientation of the valleys of the main rivers, which running from east to west facilitate the penetration of sea winds.

The vineyards, which are characterized by their great vegetative expansion, in different forms of management, occupy an area of 21 thousand hectares and correspond to 15% of the national viticultural area.
